About the Project
Nesbit Ferry Road (from Holcomb Bridge Road to Old Alabama) lacks pedestrian connectivity and the lack of a center turn lane creates traffic congestion for each vehicle needing to turn across the flow of traffic.
There are four separate projects planned for this corridor:
- Nesbit Ferry Road at Holcomb Bridge Road
- Nesbit Ferry Road at Colony Club Drive Roundabout
- Nesbit Ferry Road Sidewalk (Colony Club Drive to Brumbelow (West)
- Nesbit Ferry Road Trail (Brumbelow to Mount Pisgah (East)

Nesbit Ferry Road at Holcomb Bridge Road
The project includes adding a right turn lane and left turn lane at the Nesbit Ferry Road and Holcomb Bridge Road intersection.

Nesbit Ferry Road at Colony Club Drive
The project includes a roundabout at the intersection of Nesbit Ferry Road and Colony Club Drive.

Right-of-way authorization anticipated in winter 2024.
Nesbit Ferry Road Sidewalk (Colony Club Drive to Brumbelow – West)
The project will fill in sidewalk gaps on the west side of the road to create a constant sidewalk connection from Holcomb Bridge Road to Brumbelow Road.

Nesbit Ferry Road Trail (Brumbelow to Mount Pisgah – East)
The project includes construction of trail on the east side of Nesbit Ferry Road from Brumbelow Road to Mount Pisgah.
