Dilip Tunki was elected in November 2021, and, in January 2024, the City Council appointed him as Mayor Pro Tem.
Dilip is not only the business owner and CFO of Serenity Infotech, a firm specializing in information technology staffing, but he also brings over 25 years of experience in various sectors. His career journey includes significant roles as a civil engineer and environmental engineer across Texas and Louisiana.
His commitment to community service is evident through his involvement in various local committees and organizations. Dilip has contributed his expertise to the Johns Creek Town Center Advisory Committee and the Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee. He has also been an active board member for the Johns Creek Arts Center and the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve. Beyond these roles, Dilip has dedicated time to mentoring North Fulton’s small business owners through SCORE, a resource partner of the Small Business Administration (SBA).
Dilip’s engagement with the community extends to his participation in the Johns Creek Cricket Association, the City of Johns Creek Construction Board of Appeals, and the Chattahoochee High School Governance Council. His leadership skills were further honed through completing programs such as Leadership Johns Creek, the Johns Creek Citizens Fire Academy, and the Johns Creek Citizens Police Academy.
Academically, Dilip is well-qualified with an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University, alongside master’s and bachelor’s degrees in environmental and civil engineering, respectively.
Having called the Johns Creek area home since 2000, Dilip shares his life with his wife Padma, to whom he has been married for 28 years. They have a daughter, Sindhu, a University of Georgia graduate, who is now pursuing a master’s degree in public health at Boston University.
